Laras Tapas & Winery brings together delicious, well-travelled wines and freshly prepared small plates inside a 108 square-metre space in Dunajska Streda, styled like an informal wine-tasting cellar with an industrial nod to the town’s legendary local factories. Long communal oak tables lined with deep teal velvet stools run beneath warm pendant lighting, while a dramatic wine corridor lined floor-to-ceiling with backlit bottle racks and a timber slat ceiling leads guests deeper into the venue. A mesh-caged wall of wine barrels adds an authentic cellar texture, and a cluster of amber glass globe pendants glows above the bar like a row of hand-blown lanterns. Concrete floors and exposed dark steel details keep the mood unpretentious and a little rustic, true to the bistro’s small-town character. The result is a space built as much for lingering over a bottle as for eating.
