Vila House ZH

Vila House ZH called for a full reimagining of an already well-designed 110 square-metre home in Nitra, layering in fresh sculptural gestures without losing the spirit of what was there before. In the living area, a freeform ribbon of linear LED lighting traces an abstract loop across the ceiling, echoed by a second sinuous fixture above the dining table. Dark stone and wood-veneer display walls, lit from within, frame curated objects like a private gallery, while deep navy velvet armchairs and sheer floor-length curtains soften the room’s more angular lines. The primary bedroom takes a quieter register, pairing a textured grey upholstered bed with pale, wide-plank oak flooring for a calm, tactile retreat. The result honours the brief’s toughest constraint, improving on something already good, through restraint and precision rather than reinvention.
